President’s Executive Order Establishes Task Force for D.C.

The group will oversee graffiti cleaning and monuments preservation, as well as aid law enforcement with deportations.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order last week that establishes a federal task force in the District of Columbia to participate in a number of tasks that keep the city “safe, beautiful, and prosperous by preventing crime, punishing criminals, preserving order, protecting our revered American monuments, and promoting beautification and the preservation of our history and heritage.”

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser also took down the city’s “sanctuary city status” webpage last week, signaling that the city’s protection of illegal immigrants may be over. President Trump’s administration enacted this executive order to assist city officials in cleaning graffiti and facilitating concealed carry permits. It will also support removing homeless camps on federal land and deporting any illegal immigrants discovered in the process.

The task force will be made of representatives from the Departments of the Interior, Transportation, and Homeland Security, along with the FBI, Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he seeks to preserve the nation’s capital city and its historic value.
  • For Mayor Bower as she shifts the city’s immigration policies and adheres to law enforcement efforts.
